Setare Yazd Shopping Center Canopy

Setare Yazd Shopping Center Canopy, was produced and installed by Diba Tensile Architecture in 2010. This highpoint-formed membrane structure has a total area of 584 sqm. The form chosen for this structure is an elegant inclined high-point. The ring of the high-point is held in place by a mast anchored to the roof. By the look from inside of the mall, the beautiful membrane seems so effortlessly standing.

Setare Yazd commercial and recreational complex is one of the biggest shopping centers in Yazd. Yazd is one of the desert cities of Iran where the direct rays of sun better be avoided. Covering the void of “Setare-Yazd” complex with fabric structures was a great choice.

Using glass in an arid climate is not preferable because the transparent pieces of glass transmit UV radiations which make the inside of the building boiling hot, besides, the extreme brightness causes the blind effect, But a PVC-PVDF membrane blocks UV radiations and transmits diffused light.
